Good morning Peeps!
After another crazy morning of getting two girls off to school- one, a morning person, the other, not so much- I devoured a quick bowl of scrambled veggie and cheese eggs and a cup of coffee. Oh, and a piece of bacon. Can’t forget the bacon! I forgot to snap a picture, so enjoy this repeat:
Breakfast:
Once Dennis left for work, I threw in my Jillian Michaels Shred dvd, grabbed my hand weights, and got to work.
Workout:
I completed the Level 2, 20 minute boot camp style workout. It’s a great, full body workout, that incorporates abs, arms, legs, and cardio. While I’ve definitely improved since last year’s completion of the 30 Day Shred, I was definitely sweating, and those V Flies… Ugh. Worst part of the whole workout. V Flies in a squat are HARD, especially after all of the plank work Jillian has ya doing.
I couldn’t find a proper graphic of a V Fly, but it basically goes like this: Start, standing in shoulder width position holding a dumbbell in each hand, palms facing up, out at your sides. Lower in a squat, raising arms up and together creating a ‘V’ shape, with palms still facing up and coming together. Move back to standing position and repeat.
I hope that makes sense.
I really do love crosstraining though, especially boot camp, interval style training. I can definitely tell a difference in my core and arms after all of those darn pushups and planks, and I know the leg work can only aid in my 5k quest.
I can’t believe I just said ‘I love crosstraining’… I’ve also recently caught myself saying things like- ‘I love sprints’ and ‘I can’t wait to get out to the park for my long run’… Give me a minute, while I grab a thermometer- I may be coming down with something… 😉
After my workout, I grabbed a FruitChia bar to satisfy my sweet tooth while I fired up the laptop.
I actually thought it was cherry flavored, until I looked closer at the package this morning. Oh well, the cranberry flavor is just as tasty as the strawberry. I heart FruitChia bars!
Alrighty ya’ll, I’m off to do some running around. I have a Target trip to make. Meredith has requested that we dress Henry up for Halloween this year, and I think I need to make that happen, since we’ve NEVER dressed that sweet boy up. I may also hunt for some new winter workout clothes for myself. Aren’t new workout clothes the best?!
Question:
- Done any crazy hard crosstraining moves lately?
- If you have a pet, do you dress them up for Halloween? Any suggestions?
Mer and I are leaning towards a hot dog costume for Henry(he already has the shape for it-haha), but I’m open to anything that strikes my fancy. I’ll keep you posted.
Enjoy your Tuesday!
