Okay, so the things are getting a little stressful over here. Let’s start with breakfast before I dive into things-
- 1/2 c quick oats
- about 2 Tbsp sweetened coconut flakes
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- a sprinkle of salt
- and a handful of my favorite coconut flavored almonds
Stir the first four ingredients with enough water to saturate and microwave 1 minute or until soft. Toss in the almonds and enjoy!
Last night was Meredith and Colette’s rhythmic gymnastics recital, so I made sure to take some pictures for you guys. The girls performed well, and had a blast- especially with the cookie reception afterward! Each participant received a medal and a ribbon. It was a fun time had by all!
On a less upbeat note, last night I also received word that my grandfather may have suffered a small heart attack during his bout with an infected gallbladder, which he’d had removed in the ER earlier that day. It was somewhat of a traumatic whirlwind day, with bits and pieces floating in via text from my mom and both of my sisters. Unfortunately, my grandparents live a good distance away (near St.Louis) or I would have met them at the hospital. I called my grandmother this morning, and thankfully was even able to speak with my grandpa on the phone. He seemed pretty upbeat, considering all that had happened and was working on a much deserved lunch after waiting hours for the ok to eat anything. He had a stint put in a blocked artery, and seems to be recovering well. Many prayers for my grandpa and hopes for a speedy recovery! We love you Grandpa!
On another subject, I’m also feeling a bit frazzled with all of the events coming up. The end of school is creeping up so quickly, and I feel like everything seems to be crammed into those last few days. Is anyone else feeling this? Meredith’s birthday is also coming up next weekend, and I have yet to plan for that. I am trying not to be a procrastinator, but that always seems to be the way I work. (insert angry growl directed at myself) Thank goodness for exercise, or I don’t think I would have the stamina to keep up with everything. Positive thinking helps too!
Alright, I’m off to the mall. I took an exercise rest day today, and I have some clothes shopping for Colette that needs to happen(that child has literally outgrown all of her clothes!)
